About Taxlag
Taxlag explains how each country taxes individuals and what you must respect to become, stay or stop being a resident there: days of presence, ties, declarations, certificates. Each country page comes with a day counter set to that country's rule, and the rule is quoted from the official text, with the link.
Who is behind it
The site is published by Radif Partners, an independent publisher based in France. Radif Partners is not a law firm or a tax adviser and gives no personalised advice. No external tax adviser has reviewed these pages at this stage. We say so here because a tax page that implied a reviewer it does not have would be worth less than one that admits it. If that changes, the reviewer will be named, with their credentials.

What we do, and what we do not
We read the law, the guidance of the tax authority, or the sheet that authority gave the OECD. We turn the counting rule into code, test that code against the authority's own worked examples when it publishes any, and show the source next to the result. When we cannot open an official text, the country stays off the site. When a point is unsettled, the page says so instead of picking a side.
We do not rank countries by how little they tax, sell relocation services, or take commission from advisers. See the method and the editorial policy.
The Taxlag app
The same publisher makes the Taxlag app, which keeps your day count all year instead of one trip list at a time. That is our commercial interest in this subject, and you should read the pages knowing it. The calculators on this site stay free and need no account.
